“Is Hate Speech Really Free Speech?”

Freedom of speech is one of our most cherished rights, yet it’s also one of the most misunderstood. Where do we draw the line between free expression and harassment? When mocking becomes humiliation, and jokes turn into attacks, dignity is lost. And dignity, just like freedom, is a human right.

Freedom of speech is one of the most important rights in democratic societies. It allows people to express thoughts, ideas, and beliefs publicly without fear of government censorship or punishment. This includes spoken words, written expression, art, and the exchange of information.

But freedom of speech is not absolute. A central question remains: Is hate speech really free speech, or does it cross into something else, harassment, abuse, and the violation of human dignity?

(Picture: Reflection: When Disrespect Becomes the Norm

The public treatment of leaders is a mirror of society’s values. Since 2016, we have seen how mockery and humiliation, like the “Trump balloon,” are used not to challenge policies, but to strip a person of dignity. Whether or not one agrees with Trump, the method of ridicule says more about us than about him.

When humiliation replaces respectful disagreement, it weakens the foundations of democracy. It creates a culture where harassment becomes normalized, spreading to schools, workplaces, and everyday life. If the West tolerates public harassment at the highest levels, how can we hope to eliminate bullying and harassment among teenagers?

Freedom of speech is not a license to abuse. A society that wants to survive and grow stronger must defend both freedom and dignity, because without dignity, freedom eventually collapses.)

The Limits of Free Speech

While free speech is widely protected, democratic societies do place boundaries on it. According to the First Amendment in the U.S. and Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, restrictions are lawful when necessary to protect:

  • Public order
  • National security
  • Public health
  • The rights and reputations of others

Categories such as incitement to violence, true threats, defamation, obscenity, and fraud are not protected speech. In other words, freedom of speech is not a license to abuse.

When Speech Becomes Harassment

Harassment goes beyond free expression. It is a form of discrimination that involves unwanted, offensive, intimidating, or humiliating behavior. Examples include:

  • Derogatory jokes, racial or ethnic slurs
  • Unwanted comments about religion or appearance
  • Pressure for sexual favors
  • Offensive graffiti, cartoons, or images

Harassment can take different forms:

  1. Verbal or written (insults, threats, degrading comments)
  2. Physical (unwanted contact, intimidation)
  3. Visual (symbols, gestures, offensive imagery)

When harassment becomes repetitive, it turns into bullying, often leaving lasting emotional scars. At its worst, harassment and humiliation constitute psychological abuse and may even lead to criminal charges.

Freedom of Speech vs. Human Dignity

Here lies the conflict: freedom of speech is a right, but human dignity is also a right. Dignity means recognizing the intrinsic value of every human being and treating them with respect.

Mocking or humiliating people, whether powerful leaders or ordinary individuals, strips them of their dignity. It erodes respect. And if harassment is normalized at the highest levels of media and comedy, how can we expect young people in schools to learn respect and kindness?

A Question for Media and Comedians

Since 2016, comedians and media outlets have mocked, criticized, and even harassed the most powerful man on the planet. Some say it’s fair satire; others see it as relentless humiliation. But here’s the real issue: if harassment is accepted at the top of society, how can it be eliminated in classrooms, workplaces, or online communities?

The principle is simple: free speech must not become a weapon to degrade others.

Respect as the Foundation

Every person, regardless of power, status, or circumstance, deserves:

  • Respect: showing esteem for their humanity
  • Dignity: recognizing their inherent worth
  • Equality: treating all people fairly

Speech that destroys these values is not freedom—it’s abuse.

The Role of Platforms

In the digital era, platforms amplify speech through Section 230 protections in U.S. law, which shield platforms from being sued for user content. However, the responsibility ultimately lies with the individual: what you post online is your responsibility.

Social media can either become a space for respectful dialogue or a weapon of harassment. The choice belongs to us.

Conclusion

Free speech is vital to democracy, but it comes with responsibility. Hate speech, harassment, and humiliation are not the same as free expression; they are violations of dignity.

The way forward is not to silence voices, but to promote respect, reject harassment, and recognize that freedom without responsibility can lead to abuse.

Trump created TRUTH Social to stand up the the tyranny

People around the world talked much about a new Trump Media Company since he left the oval office, but even more people said it was a conspiricy theory. We all know that MSM hated Trump because he launched a war on FAKE NEWS.

But now it is real. And it is true. Trump will start a new Media company, and the new company is called Trump Media & Technology Grouip. This company is the one to start a brand new social media company called «TRUTH Social,» as well as a subscription video-on-demand service that features «non-woke» entertainment programming, news and podcasts.

The company will go public via a SPAC merger with Miami-based Digital World Acquisition, which surged more than 50% premarket to $15 a share.

«I created TRUTH Social and TMTG to stand up the the tyranny of Big Tech,» Trump wrote in a press release. What Trump and his supporters don`t like is to see that Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, while former president Trump was silenced.

This is unacceptable, according to Trump Media & Technology Group. Their mission is to create a rival to the liberal media consortium and fight back against the «Big tech» companies of Silicon Valley, which have used their unilateral power to silence opposing voices in America.

TRUTH Social is set for a beta launch next month and a full rollout in the first quarter of 2022.

Covington student Nick Sandman was smeared by the Media Mob and sued CNN $275M for their Fake News

The Marxist Media Mob are struggling, and CNN is one of them. Once a respected channel, but now often called Communist News Network or Clown News Network. Covington student Nick Sandman sued CNN for $275M for their fake news.

The Media Mob told the world that Nick Sandman harassed a Native-American, but that was a big lie. They turned things upside down. You can clearly see how sick and twisted it is. Some people believe that people with a MAGA hat is racist like Trump, but that is far away from the truth.

“The Five” surpassed Rachel Maddow with 200,000 viewers

Nick Sandman had a MAGA hat and that is why the Media Mob smeared him. The Media Mob made it look like Nick Sandman was the agressor, but he wasn`t. What`s strange to me is that the Media Mob repetedly tells a story before they have the facts.

But CNN is not the only one. CNBC`s Rachel Maddow was sued last year for more than $10 million for calling a coservative television network called One America News “paid Russian propaganda.” Her ratings is also plummeting, and her show is surpassed by another Fox News show called “The Five.”

“The Five” averaged over 2,7 million viewers last week and that is 200,000 more than CNBC`s Maddow show. All the Late Night Shows are also plummeting. They are all mocking president Trump, but wievers are turning off the TV.

Jimmy Fallon remain the no.1 late-night show (1,99M viewers) followed by Jimmy Kimmel live (1,53M wiewers).

Main Stream Media`s trust is declining. But that has been going on for a very looooong time. Not only years, but decades. They often blame on social media, but this has been going on long before social media became mainstream.

The Media Mob deserve to be sued. And they deserve to lose viewers. Who is the winner of the Fake News Award 2019?

We are now standing at a crossroad were two different visions of humanity`s future compete

Former President Barack Obama had a speech in Johannesburg on Tuesday. In an address Tuesday in honor of the late Nelson Mandela ahead of the 100th anniversary of his birth, Obama criticized populist movements toward authoritarianism around the world.

He was warning against protectionism, climate change and closed borders. Obama said “The politics of fear and resentment and retrenchment began to appear. And that kind of politics is now on the move. It`s on the move at a pace that would have seemed unimaginable just a few years ago.”

“I can`t find common ground if somebody says that climate change just isn`t happening, when almost all the world`s scientists tell us it is. I don`t know where to start talking to you about this. If you say it`s an elaborate hoax, where do we start?”, Obama said in the speech.

Strong man politics is on the rise. In the west you have far right parties that are based on closed borders, protectionism and nationalism. Many developed countries are now looking at China`s model of a totalitarian control combined with capitalism.

The free press is under attack. Censorship and state control of the media is on the rise. Social media once seen as a mechanism to promote knowledge, understanding and solidarity, has proved to be just as effective promoting hatred, paranoia, propaganda and conspiracy theories.

We are now standing at a crossroad. A moment in time in which two very different visions of humanity`s future compete. Two different stories and two different narratives. About who we are and who we should be.

Instagram`s audience is growing much faster than Facebook`s and Instagram can be Facebook`s best growth engine

Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook started its business 13 years ago on February 4, 2004. Many things have happened since then, and Facebook are now among the biggest corporations with its 2016 Revenue of US$ 27,638 Billion. The success continues.

The social media giant are growing like never before. Ad revenue grew by 51% YoY in Q1 2017. It jumped from $5,2 Billion to $8,85 Billion. Total revenue climbed 49% and earnings went from $0,60 to $1,04.

It is a big surprise for many to see that Facebook is still adding DAUs and MAUs (active users). Monthly active users have jumped to over 2 billion and their revenue will follow. Many companies are trying to take Facebook`s throne, but the giant are very strong and knocks off all challengers.

Snapchat is the latest challenger, but Facebooks Instagram seems to be strong in this market and will also contribute to Facebooks revenue growth. Instagram has over 700 million MAUs and 400 million DAUs.

Instagram is integrated in the social media business model and they have been selling ads for four years now. Instagrams audience is growing much faster than Facebooks audience and Instagram can be Facebook`s best growth engine.

Instagram is not the only growth engine of Facebook. They also have Messenger, WhatsApp and Oculus VR, and their next step will be to compete with YouTube.

Investors love the social media giant. In January this year, Facebook`s shares were trading at $115 per share and on Monday their shares were trading at $166 per share. The giant have jumped over 40% so far in 2017. Compare that to the rise in the benchmark S&P 500 index during the same period and see for yourself.

Facebook Inc is expected to report earnings on Wednesday 26 after market close. The report will fe for the fiscal Quarter ending June 2017. Earnings forecast for the quarter is $1,13 which is a big jump from $0,76 in the same quarter last year.
