40% less nitrogen dioxide in Paris

Pollution is a huge problem. The problem is not only in China, but in Paris too. Earlier this year, Paris was the world`s most polluted city! The noxious smog was so dense it almost obscured the French capital`s totemic landmark, the Eiffel Tower.

Not only that. Climate change is a global serious problem. According to a report from French Senate, the upper house of parliament, air pollution cost France €101,3bn a year in negative health, economic and financial consequences.

Eiffeltårnet2

(Picture: Eiffel Tower, Paris)

In the same report, it said illnesses created or worsened by pollution included Alzheimer`s disease, heart disease, respiratory disease and some cancers. It also stated that polluted air is also linked to foetal development problems.

The report estimated that the pollution caused up to 45,000 premature deaths in France a year, from asthma, chronic bronchitis, heart attacks, lung cancer and strokes. The Senate criticised successive governments for a «failure to mobilise» to clean up the city`s air.

Now you know how serious Volkswagen`s manipulation of emissions data for diesel vehicles was?

The French claimed this was typical «German economic arrogance».

Last year, I wrote about the International climate meeting in France (November 2014), and ahead of that meeting, City mayor Anne Hidalgo is doing everything she can to clean up the air. On Twitter she said that she wants to eliminate diesel use in Paris. She also said that her goal is to eradicate this harmful fuel in Paris.

According to Airparif, the levels of nitrogen dioxide (NO2) in Paris have peaked at «very high». In the last 12 months, the average of the level of NO2 was 66µg/m3, which is above EU limit of 40µg/m3. The quai has now and then topped 100µg/m3,

Airparif also said pollution levels were up to double those allowed by the regulations. Five pollutants posed problems in the capital: benzene, nitrogen dioxide, ozone and the fine particles PM10 and PM2,5.

City mayor Anne Hidalgo has a plan. Last week (September 27) she arranged the city`s first «day without cars», and that arrangement led to a dramatic drop in both air and noise pollution.

Some parts of Paris registered about 40% less nitrogen dioxide in the air on September 27!

The noise was recorded by half in the same areas. Wow!

It is nitrogen dioxide that is producing smog. Can you imagine how it was on Champs-Èlysèes that day? The bustling Avenue des Champs-Èlysèes lowered the nitrogen dioxide levels by 30% that sunday. In other words; The last day of Tour de France is a great day! (I`m a bicycle enthusiast).

In a few weeks, many of the important world leaders will come together in Paris for what has been billed as the world`s biggest ever climate change conference. COP21 will seek an International agreement on dramatic measures to keep global warming below 2C. This is the war world leaders should spend time on.

I`m glad we have some leaders we can TRUST!

Is he gonna die, or make people happy?

There are so many talents on X Factor UK. Last week I talked about the talented soul singer Louisa Johnson. Another one is the soul singer Anton Stephan’s who is previous backing singer for Tina Turner.

Anton did a cover of the beautiful «I`m changing», written by Henry Kriger and Tom Eyen. The song is also performed by the character Effie White, originally portrayed on Broadway by Jennifer Holliday.

Another Jennifer performed the song as Effie White in the 2006 DreamWorks/Paramount Dreamgirls motion picture adaptation. That was Jennifer Hudson. Bianca Ryan did the same song on the first season of NBC`s America`s Got Talent.

Great voices all of them, but Queen of all the Queen`s; Whitney Houston performed the song at the 10th Anniversary of Arista Records ceremony back in 1984.

The song peaked at #22 on Billboard`s Black Singles Chart, and failing to chart on Billboard`s Pop Singles Chart.

Have a listen to Anton Stephen`s version below.

The doctors revealed that he has only a few weeks left on this planet. He had tumours on his pituitary glands and his adrenal glands. But Anton is a fighter, and now it looks good again. At one stage, he said, he was only given six weeks to live.

I decided to beat this and do the X Factor, he said.

45 years old Anton has been in the background for a while and like many other backing singers, he want to be a big star. He said he is thinking like other backing singers; «What if I gave the main star on the scene a bit of a push»

Simon Cowell is a mentor and he is the man behind One Direction, who signed to Cowell`s label in 2011. The group have gone on to top singles and albums charts worldwide. The magazine Time named Cowell one of the 100 most influential people in world in 2004 and 2010.

Anton Stephans has a great soul voice. Is he gonna die, or is he gonna make people happy?

Volkswagen`s dead is Tesla`s bread

Volkswagen`s dead can be Tesla`s bread. As you may know, Volkswagen`s stock has plummeted, while Tesla is so far up for the year.

Volkswagen are spewing nitrogen oxide that is 40 times more than acceptable level, according to regulators. That`s not good for the environment because it contributes to pollution. In worst case it can lead to lung disorders, asthma and bronchitis.

At least 12 million cars is so far affected by the diesel scandal, and that is good news for EV producers like Tesla. We can see a trend in the market; people are looking for clean energy. They are looking for green energy.

tesla-model-x

(Picture: Tesla Model X)

So, what is the option as the battery get cheaper? People will sooner or later dump diesel and go for battery anyway. For me it is clear; Volkswagen should have started to produce and sell EV`s long time ago, and not cheat with their «clean diesel» engines.

Volkswagen didn`t listen to the market, and cheated. For all I know, maybe they would start to have huge problems with the demand anyway?

Tesla published a letter to shareholders in the beginning of August 2015, telling them that Tesla Model X will be launched in September. I haven`t seen any news about the release yet, but I think it will be just around the corner.

This is great news for Model X buyers who have been waiting a long time for the new crossover SUV. Elon Musk said that the Model X is going to be «something quite special.» Who doesn`t want something special?

It`s a long waiting list for Tesla`s electric SUV, and that means if you want that car and put in an order for your Model X today, the order will fulfilled next year. Tesla already has about 24,000 Model X reservations.

Model X had about 12,000 reservations but I think Tesla is well more known now than three years ago, and their supercharger network is much more extensive than a few months ago. In addition, SUV is for many customers is more appealing and practical than a sedan.

The price for Model X will be similar to the Model S at a range between $132,000 and $144,000. Model X will have a battery range of roughly 215 miles to 217 miles, which is also similar to Model S. The difference, however, is the «falcon wing» doors on the brand new Model X.

Tesla will continue bo build out its Gigafactory in Nevada on top of the new release of a new Model X. All in all, this is bullish signals, despite the drop of the stock yesterday. Tesla is trading at $248,43, down -3,30%.

Elon Musk expect to reach the delivery goal of 50,000 to 55,000 EV`s for the full-year 2015.

Many German car makers is stolen by the “master race”

What in the world is going on in the German car industry?

It`s not a secret any longer that the German car maker Volkswagen fudged with the numbers. Volkswagen had written their software to deliberately produce fake results and tried to fool the emissions-testing regulators.

What kind of strategy is that?

VW logo

I belive that they did it because they have strong competition from the new EV`s, but wouldn`t it be much cheaper to fix the problem instead of trying to fool the emissions-testing regulators by cheating about it?

Previous Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn was «endlessly sorry that we have disappointed trust». It`s like a mirage built on trust. What is the relationship without trust? And how are Volkswagen gonna build the trust up again?

It`s no doubt; Volkswagen must spend a lot of years to come back and they will shrink from now on. A company that have seen massive growth since the World War II. Why did Volkswagen grow so fast after the World War II?

Many of the German car makers have been silent about one big thing that have been top-secret in about 70 years. I belive many have done something smart when they revealed the secrets and told the world before the world told them.

Many of the car brands is stolen!

Nazi

Four year ago, luxury car maker BMW admitted, after decades of silence, that they have used slave labours, taking over Jewish firms and they did business with the highest echelons of the Nazi party. BMW is not alone.

WirtschaftsWoche have made a list and it is shocking to see what the Nazis have done to make all this companies rich and famous. The Nazis not only took over Jewish firms, they also used the Jews in their factories for free.

Here is a list of slaves used by German firms:

1 IG Farben 83,000 slaves
2 BASF 80,000 slaves
3 ThyssenKrupp 75,000 slaves
4 BMW 50,000 slaves
5 Daimler (Mercedes) 40,000 slaves
6 Bosch 20,000 slaves
7 Audi 20,000 slaves
8 Volkswagen 12,000 slaves

Deutsche Bank did not use slaves, but became extremely wealthy during the World War II, because they sacked all Jewish directors and became rich by taking part in the «Aryanising» or taking over Jewish-owned businesses.

The most powerful banker Hermann Abs had prospered in the Third Reich. He joined the bank in 1937. He «Aryanised» Austrian and Czechoslovak banks that were owned by Jews, and the bank`s wealth quadrupled as the Nazi Empire expanded.

Siemens are still silent about their past. So are Adidas and C&A, but they are working on their own history about the past.

Fritz Sauckel was hanged for war crimes because he organized a program to bring over two million people to Germany from Poland, the Baltic states and Russia, to work for the new master race. Many of them went to companies like Volkswagen and BASF.

Romans and Greeks valued and revered their forced labourers while the Nazis treated them extremely bad. Volkswagen had what they called the «dying room» where female forced labourers who gave birth had to leave their newborns to die. They also had to drink water from toilets.

As you can see of the list above, non of the German car makers are at the top of the list. IG Farben is number one. They used 83,000 slaves in their factory inside Auschwitz. They prison labour to make their own gas called Zyklon B who killed most of the Jews in the Nazi gas chambers.

Owner of BMW, Gabriele Quandt said it was wrong for the family to ignore the dark chapter of its history. He decided to speak out after Bonn-based historian Joachim Scholtyseck revealed the secret about their grandfather Guenther Quandt and his brother Herbert who were responsible for many Nazi injustices.

bmw logo

They both acquired many Jewish-owned companies through the Nazis programme of «Aryanisation». Guenther got the title «Wehrwirtschaftsfuhrer» which means; leader of the armament economy.

Herbert Quandt was part of the system. Guenther became a Nazi Party member a month before Hitler came to the power in Germany. He used a network of party officials and Whrmacht officers to build up contracts for lucrative state contracts.

Guenther was divorced with Magda Behrend Rietschel in 1929. She killed her own six children and her self together with Joseph Goebbels in Hitler`s bunker in 1945. IG Farben which killed millions by their gas Zyclon B got away with mass murder. Only 12 of the 24 executives were found guilty. Why?

The bosses at I.G Farben financed Ludwig Erhard`s research during the war.

Authors of the book «Wartime Economy And Labour Usage Of Auto Union Chemnitz AG During The Second World War», economic historian Rudolf Boch of the University of Chemnitz, and Martin Kukowski, head of the Department of history at Audi, revealed Audi`s sercret after the study of Audi`s archives during the World War II.

audi-logo

The study is a 500 page large report. It claims that Auto Union (now Volkswagen`s luxury brand marque Audi) built its success based on slavery. The authors said more than 20,000 forced laborers were used in the production of Auto Union (one fifth from concentration camps), and founder Dr Richard Bruhn was responsible for that. Auto Union and Richard Bruhn had been «firmly ensnared in the National Socialist regime.»

Auto Union was liquidated at the end of the war, and Bruhn was interned by British forces. He had close ties to the Nazi Party and met Hitler and Albert Speer during his time as Chairman at Auto Union. He became a member of the Nazi Party in 1933.

Auto Union was founded in 1932 and later on they merged with four other car makers. The automotive conglomeration Auto Union, was incorporated into the Volkswagen family and merged with NSU to form Audi NSU Auto Union, which later became Audi. They dropped the name Audi NSU Auto Union in 1985.

Auto Union built their wealth on human misery and suffering.

1,000 prisoners was forced labourer and many of them were from France. Disabled workers were shipped to the Flossenburg concentration camp to be executed. In 1945, about 700 Zwickau inmates were sent on a death march to Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic), were half of them died on the way.

Ferdinand Porsche helped Volkswagen to build the «people`s car» or Volkswagen. He reached the rank of SS-Oberfuhrer (senior leader) and used the Volkswagen production facilities to manufacture military vehicles for the Nazis.

Some of the leading figures in the Nazi economy became leading builders of the European Union.

For many leaders close to the Nazi regime, Europe became a cover for pursuing German national interest after the defeat of Hitler, says historian Dr Michael Pinto-Duschinsky. An integral part of the Nazi war machine was slave labour.

Not only German car makers were involved in the Nazi party. Another car maker was the U.S made brand Ford, founded by the notorious anti-Semite Henry Ford. He supported Hitler and the Nazi party by sending huge amount of money to Hitler every year on his birthday.

Ford logo

He blamed the Jews for World War I, and wrote many articles under the charming title; «The International Jew: The World`s Foremost Problem.» He received the Grand Cross of the German Eagle in 1938, and that`s the highest medal Nazi Germany awarded to foreign citizens.

Ford`s German operation produced one-third of the militarized trucks used by the German army during the World War II. Much of the labor is done by prisoners. He also used forced labor as early as 1940, when the American arm of the company still had complete control.

Another U.S citizen is J.D Rockefeller who was a major shareholder in Chase Bank (now J.P Morgan Chase). He funded Nazi eugenics experiments before the war. Chase and other U.S banks helped the Germans to raise over $20 million between 1936 and 1941, netting over $1,2 million in commission. Chase pocketed $500,000 which was a lot of money at the time.

Chase Bank froze the accounts to all the French Jews before the Nazis had even gotten around to ask them to.

Hugo Boss designed the SS uniforms and the dabber brown shirts of the SA and the Hitler youth. IBM designed the punch cards that were used to systematize the extermination of people by race and class.

Kodak, Allanz, Nestlè and Genral Electric (GE) was other global businesses that worked with the Nazis to name a few.

Many horrible things happened during the World War II, because people didn`t do something. People were silent. Ignorance is the most violent element in a society, and a nation of sheep will sooner or later have a government of wolves.

People has blamed Jews for nearly everything in hundreds and thousands of years. People blamed them for the stock market crash in the 1870`s. The fact is that the stock market will crash no matter who`s working in the banking system. The concept is very easy;

What goes up – must come down.

It is the nature. Just like the sun. It goes up, reach a top, and goes down again. Look at the waves. It goes up and it goes down again. That`s the nature. Not the Jews. The stock market stops at the top because there aint more money left to go into the market at the top.

Don`t blaime all the German people for what happened during the World War II, because not all of the German people were Nazis. Many of Germany`s businesses is built in a dirty way (but not all of them), and we know that Germany has a large surplus on their budget at the moment.

The German auto industry accounts for around 15% of its manufacturing activity, and about 3% of its GDP. Volkswagen is not a new Lehman Brothers, so it`s not gonna be a new 2008 again. But Germany`s growth is slow and the European economy is not growing in the same pace as the U.S. On top of that they have migrant challenges.

I still don`t know why Volkswagen fudged with the numbers? Mark Twain said once; «It`s easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled», but I think it is a risky strategy.

Volkswagen can continue to build great cars, but what`s more important now is to build………….

TRUST!

Countdown to shutdown

On October 1st, 2013, I wrote an article with the headline «Government shutdown». It was the first shutdown is 17 years. 800,000 federal employees was out of work that day, and millions of people was working without pay. Why?

USA didn`t have enough money to pay all of it`s bills.

Is this gonna happen again next week? According to Business Insider, the odds of a shutdown by the federal government have plummeted with the stunning resignation of House Speaker John Boehner, who sacrificed his speakership to avoid a shutdown.

If everything goes well next week, the government will be funded through December 11. The U.S has hit its debt limit, and the Treasury Department is using typical «extraordinary measures» to continue paying the nation`s bill.

countdown_to_shutdown_red

The Congressional Budget Office has said the date at which the debt ceiling will have to be raised or the country will begin defaulting on its obligations will come sometimes between mid-November and mid-December.

It`s crystal clear; if you spend more than you earn, you need to borrow. If not, you have start to sell some assets. Not only governments, but also companies and private persons need to do that. The U.S Government have deficit, if the spending is greater than tax collections.

As of September 23, 2015, total U.S debt stood at $18, 151 073 040 341,31

The last 50 years, the federal government has run a deficit in 45 years. The deficit is normally at around 3 percent of the economy (GDP). The federal deficit was 9,8 percent in 2009, but the average so far in 2015 is about 3,2 percent of the economy.

In tough times like the Great Recession, government spending will automatically increase because the unemployment increase and many people become eligible for food stamps programs. When the unemployment increase, tax revenues will decrease.

At the same time, companies earn less and pay less in taxes, which means less money to the government, and here is the key. In times like this, the government need to increase government spending in order to stimulate the economy and in a short-term the result will be a deficit.

The Fed didn`t «print» money during the stock market crash in 1929. Many investors lost their money and people lost their jobs. That was probably a mistake, but this time is different. The Fed started to print money.

You can imagine how it would be if they didn`t stimulate the economy?

To compare; During the World War II, the U.S deficit in 1943 was 29,6 percent of the economy. Tax policy plays a very important role for the budget. The more tax, the more earnings. Less tax means less earnings. One of the major roles to the budget surplus of the 1990`s was tax increases. What they did is what Donald Trump is talking about now: to increase the tax rate for the highest income taxpayers.

On the other hand; major tax cuts in 2001 and 2003 were the main reason to the deficits over the last decade and todays debt. The chart below shows the size of the deficit or surplus from 1930 to 2015.

deficit-surplus

(Click the picture to enlarge)

In times when the debt is bigger than the earnings, the U.S Treasury start to sell bonds to finance the debt. Everyone can buy bonds or other securities directly from the Treasury, or from banks or brokers.

For example, you can buy a 5 year bond today at $100, but you only pay $90. What you actually do is loans money to the federal government in exchange for repayment with interest at a later date. There are many different kinds of Treasury bonds, and they all represent a loan to the Treasury, and therefore to the U.S government.

The federal debt is the sum of the debt held by the public and other foreign countries. That`s the money regular people paid for the bonds, plus the debt held by the federal accounts. Debt held by federal accounts is the amount of money that the Treasury has borrowed from itself.

When trust fund accounts run a surplus, the Treasury takes some of the surplus and uses it to pay for other kinds of federal spending. But the Treasury must pay that borrowed money back to the trust fund at a later time.

That borrowed money is called «debt held by federal accounts».

One-third of the debt is held by the federal accounts and the rest is held by the public. Look at the pie chart below from December 2014.

Who_does_the_US_owe_money2

(Click the picture to enlarge)

The three countries that hold the most U.S debt is China ($1,3 trillion), Japan ($1,2 trillion) and Brazil ($262 billion). Other foreign holders of national debt by oil exporting nations is Iran, Kuwait, Ecuador, Nigeria and others, $297 billion), and Caribbean banking centers like Bermuda, Cayman Island, and others, $293 billion).

The Federal Reserve`s share of the federal debt is not counted as debt held by federal accounts, because the Federal Reserve is considered independent of the federal government.

The Federal Reserve buys and sells Treasury bonds as part of its work to control the money supply and set interest rates in the U.S economy.

The first overall debt ceiling was passed in 1939, and since then it has been raised or otherwise amended more than 140 times, including more than a dozen times since 2000. The debt ceiling evolved from restrictions that Congress placed on federal debt nearly from the founding of the country.

Some members of Congress have pledged to allow the federal government to default on its debt payments rather than raise the debt ceiling again, and this has been a hot issue in many years now. What they actually is doing is paying debt by another debt, and that won`t help and some argue that a deficit only shifts the burden to future generations. Others argue that deficits are necessary in tough times while a budget surplus in good times should be used to pay down the debt.

Instead of paying the debt in good times with surplus, they can use some of the surplus to government services or tax cuts.

It`s clear that many countries around the world have big challenges with much debt, but an even bigger challenge in the future can be jobs and employments.
