Twitter at record low on Wednesday

It seems like investors have lost all faith in Twitter. A stock that has plummeted so far in 2016. A bad start of the year for CEO Jack Dorsay. Both of his company’s (Square and Twitter) have plummeted.

This is exactly what I have talked about recently. Twitter need a change, and maybe Steve Ballmer is the man? He have a great stake in Twitter and I assume he is not buying into Twitter without knowing something? Or does he have a great idea?

(Picture: Twitter in a bubble)

Because Twitter have a great opportunity, but need to change the business model. Im not gonna reveal any secrets about that right now, because my ideas is not for free. But look at the stock today (Wednesday). Its up 4,19%. What`s going on?

Global stocks tumbled on Wednesday, and Twitter plunged more than 7% today and hit a 52 week low at $15,48. This is the lowest ever! A stock that started the first trading day on the New York Stock Exchange in November 2013 at $26.

Twitter bounced on Wednesday because there is a lot of rumors out there. A takeover rumor.

I have earlier talked about a possible Facebook takeover because they are both great mini-bloggers, but other may be interested. What about Alphabet? Or Ingram? Robert Murdock has denied any takeover for his News Corp.

Investors are disappointed because User Growth and product development has failed. It will be an easy shortcut to join other social media companies, but if they have some ideas to make it on their own, I think they will have a long way back up again.

Mr. Jack Dorsey has a 3,2% stake in Twitter. A company with a market cap of 11,3 Billion, and an Earning per share of -0,86.

The new Hyperloop is ready for tests in 2016

As a business man or woman, you know that «time is money». If you want to move from A to B as soon as possible, you will take the plane. Not the train. The plane will spend about an hour, while the train will spend about six hours on the same route.

But what if you can move 800 miles per hour (1,300 km/h)?

An American company called Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HTT) want to do something with that. They has developed a transportation system based on the Hyperloop concept, which was envisioned by Elon Musk in 2013.

The consept of the Hyperloop was popularized by Elon Musk, not affiliated with HTT. The concept was to develop a high-speed, intercity transporter using a low pressure tube train which would reach a top speed of 800 miles per hour, or 1,300 km/h with a yearly capacity of 15 million passengers. That`s fast eh? Not only that. HTT is also planning to develop a slower privatized urban Hyperloop for inter-suburb travel. The hyperloop is built for both cargo and people.

Blade Runner
Blade Runner is the one and only known test rig of its kind. It was designed, fabricated and built by the Hyperloop team with the purpose of testing scaled axial compressor blades and aerodynamic structures in environments down to 1/1000 of atmospheric pressure. Powered by two 2,000 CFM Vacuum pumps, this unique design allows the Hyperloop team to conduct long duration tests while simultaneously adjusting flow variables. The innovative, variable throat geometry allows testing in speeds ranging from subsonic thru supersonic regimes.
Levitation Rig
The Hyperloop Levitation Rig is another unique test stand designed, fabricated and built by the Hyperloop team. This test stand is housed in an 18 cubic meter environmental chamber that is capable of achieving pressures down to 1/1000 of atmospheric. The rotor achieves surface speeds in excess of 300 m/s. These speeds are necessary to simulate Hyperloop’s cutting edge levitation systems that will be adapted for use on the Hyperpod.
The Big Tube
The Big Tube is Hyperloop Tech’s largest piece of hardware. This carbon steel vessel weighs approximately 70,000 lbs, is 50 feet long, and 12 feet in diameter. The Big Tube is used to validate tube design, orifice design, vacuum pass through design, weld design, manufacturing automation, and many more amazing projects. The driving motivation for the Big Tube is to serve as a central test vessel for all future hardware development. As Hyperloop Tech grows, The Big Tube will only get larger since this is the first step to building the loop.

The idea of lightspeed travel to the masses will begin testing in Nevada desert next year. HTT anounced yesterday that they has entered into agreements to locate their Propulsion Open Air Test (POAT) on an approximately 50 acre site it has secured in the Mountain View Industrial Park in the City of North Las Vegas, Nevada. Wow!

«This decision represents another major milstone in our journey to bring Hyperloop to commercial reality,» said former Cisco president, CEO Rob Lloyd.

Hyperloop is a transportation system in which a full-length tube is built between destinations, with a controlled environment inside the tube allowing people to travel at extremely fast speed. This technology will change the way the world views transportation.

Hyperloop Technologies, Inc, is the world`s next breakthrough in transportation.

The kick off for the testing will take place in the first quarter of 2016.

Drone high-growth industry

FedEx, UPS and DHL to name a few are very silent when it comes to drones, while their coming competitors aren`t. I assume they all have busy days with packages from Amazon, but it will be a game changer when Amazon starts with their own drone business.

Not only Amazon are planning to deliver their packages with drones. Alphabet and Wal-Mart two other big companies that is planning to deliver packages via drones and that will happen sooner than we like to know.

FAA regulations are expected to open the up the market for commercial drone operations within 2017. The drone business will create more than 100 000 jobs in the next ten years and it is expected to see an $82 billion impact on the economy.

Other companies in the drone business is AeroVironment, GoPro, Boeing, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Intel, IXYS and Facebook to name a few.

AVAV

AeroVironment Inc is engaged in the design, develop, produce, support and operate a technological portfolio of products and services. It supplies unmanned aircraft systems, UAS tactical missile systems and related services within the US DoD.

They are well positioned in a high growth industry and the company will gain from the UAS market in the future. AeroVironment is one of the few companies in the promising small-scale UAS business, and the growing application of drone technology will give them a great opportunity.

Ambarella is nearly four times bigger than AeroVironment, but AeroVironment`s UAS technology is limited to defense and warefare. They benefited from the growth of technologies like predator drones and tactical missile systems, and their UAS technology can give them a great opportunity in the commercial sector.

Cost for consumer or commercial purposes is from $500 to $5,000, and some of the professional equipment could cost between $20,000 to $50,000.

Oil and gas companies can use the drones for inspections. So do mining companies for surveying and mapping. Hospitals and Insurance companies are other interested groups. German-based Spectair Group is heavily involved in the drone manufacturing business and they have three brands; Spectair Services, Flairics and Height-Tech.

GoPro has their own wearable cameras and the cost for their commercial drones is between $500 and $1000. In addition, we have Matternet, which is headquartered in Silicon Valley and Dajiang Innovation Technology, based in Shenzen, China.

The potential is huge.

Ambarella`s new business opportunity

I have been watching Ambarella for a while and the stock has gone straight up, but that`s until now. So far, 2015 has been a bad year for Ambarella, but despite the huge drop, the stock is still up for the year and even better than S&P 500.

The stock is down over 50% in a few months and the stock has so far been very speculative. The company has profited from GoPro`s success, but as you may know, GoPro has been losing market shares with weaker earnings and guidance for the future.

When GoPro missed its guidance for Q3 and told investors a forth-quarter to decline nearly 20% YoY, Ambarella’s shares was also declining. Investors are linking those two companies but that can be a mistake.

But GoPro is not the only customer in the market. The chipmaker has another big opportunity, which can be bigger than GoPro. The new big market is the drone industry, and if you saw my article about Amazon`s new drones, you know that this can be big business.

A green signal from the Federal Aviation Administration will open up a huge market for drones, and Ambarella’s high-end camera chips. The demand for drones with camera will not only increase in the defence industry (U.S Department of Defence) but also by ordinary consumers at Wal-Mart Stores and Amazon to name a few.

Amarella is well diversified and the drone industry is not the biggest income source for the company. Only 10% of their revenue comes from the drone industry, but that can change rapidly in the future.

In addition to their wearable-cameras space, Ambarella’s revenue comes from IP Security and automotive, but that can change in the future. Their biggest competitor in the drone market is probably Aero Vironment, but they are not diversified like Ambarella, while they are focusing just on one segment which is drones.

Market Cap is 1,92B and P/E 25,73 with earning per share; 2,34. Check out the new report on Thursday.

The stock is trading at $60 on Wednesday, which is down from record high of $129,19 in July. GoPros demand for drones in not what investors expected and many are bearish at the moment. The drone market hasnt started yet and Ambarella can be a good investment for long-term investors.

Amazon revealed its new drone while online shopping is increasing

We can see a clear picture here. The busiest day of the year, Black Friday is declining while online retailers see sales are jumping. Black Friday sales fall nearly 11% from last year. How is it gonna be today; on Cyber Monday?

Some shops starts the sale the day before Black Friday and that can be a reason, but if you look at Thanksgiving, it also dropped this year by nearly 11%. Other retailers are offering bargains long before Thanksgiving and that can be another reason to the decline.

The biggest reason I think, is the increased online shopping which jumped 14,3% on Friday from last year. Many people doesn`t want to participate in the wild shopping crowds and prefer rather to shop online than in stores.

It`s Cyber Monday today and the term was created by marketing companies to persuade people to shop online. I wrote about both Black Friday and Cyber Monday in 2013, but nobody knew what it was. Now, many knows what Black Friday is but still today no one know what Cyber Monday is.

It`s probably to early for people in Europe. Cyber Monday made its debut on November 28, 2005, and quickly became one of the biggest online shopping days of the year. The trend is driving serious online discounts and promotions on Cyber Monday.

Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday means busy days for Amazon that revealed the latest prototype of drones.

Amazon are planning to deliver packages in under 30 minutes. The new drones weigh 55 pounds and can deliver packages weighing up to 5 pounds. Amazon has many prototypes, and they are ready to launch the service once the company has the «regulatory support.»

Google revealed that it wants to launch a drone service in 2017, while Walmart said they are now starting drone testing.

What about FedEx, UPS and DHL?
