Could something catastrophic like Apocalypse or Armageddon occur during the Total Solar Eclipse?

The last solar eclipse in the United States occured on Monday, August, 21, 2017, and now it`s happening again. A total eclipse will take place on Monday, April 8, 2024, visible across North America, and dubbed the Great North American Eclipse by some media.

A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the sun, thereby obscuring the image of the Sun for a viewer on Earth. Parts of North America will go dark on Monday because the total solar eclipse will pass overhead.

Except during the brief total phase of a total solar eclipse, when the Moon completely blocks the Sun`s bright face, it is not safe to look directly at the Sun without specialized eye protection for solar viewing.

Viewing any part of the bright Sun through a camera lens, binoculars, or a telescope without a special-purpose solar filter secured over the front of the optics will instantly cause severe eye injury.

The 2024 Total Solar Eclipse is different than the 2017 Eclipse. Seven years ago, the longest period of totality was experienced near Carbonadal, Illinois, at 2 minutes, 42 seconds. For the upcoming eclipse, totality will last up to 4 minutes, 28 seconds, in an area about 25 minutes northwest of Torreôn, Mexico.

In 2017, an estimated 215 million U.S. Adults (88% of U.S. Adults) viewed the solar eclipse, either directly or electronically. Experts claim that everyone should see at least one in their life, because they`re just so spectacular. They are emotion-evoking natural events.

If you go to Texas on Monday, you will probably meet other people who like to see the total eclipse as well. But one fun part of experiencing an eclipse can be watching the people around you. They may yell, they scream, they cry, they hug each other, and that`s because it`s such an amazingly beautiful event.

Two planets, and maybe a comet could also be spotted. Venus will be visible 15 degrees west-southwest of the sun 10 minutes before totality, according to Astrnonmy. Jupiter will also appear 30 degrees to the east-northeast of the sun during totality, or perhaps a few minutes before. Venus is expected to shine more than five times as bright as Jupiter.

But another celestrial object that may be visible is Comet 12P/Pons-Brooks, about six degrees to the right of Jupiter. With its distinctive circular cloud of gas, and a long tail, has been really putting on a great show in the sky, ahead of the eclipse.

For various reasons, occurrences like this also attract eccentric notions and outlandish conspiracies. One of them suggests that the eclipse will trigger a massive human sacrifice. People will supposedly be drawn into a black hole. Many Christians have stockpiled food and opt to remain at home on Monday.

Other bizarre theories allege that “elites” will exploit the eclipse to manipulate humanity, influence the presidential election, and control everything imaginable.

Only in America could a total solar eclipse herald the apocalypse and simultaneously impact an election. Nearly every generation believes they are witnessing the end of days. Perhaps we are. However, there’s no definitive way to ascertain if we are hurtling towards Armageddon or merely encountering a darkened sky for a brief moment.

The rarity and nearly inconceivable nature of events like a total solar eclipse leave human beings feeling insignificant, vulnerable, and somewhat apprehensive of the unknown. Without the sun, our sole source of natural light, warmth, and energy, could something catastrophic occur? If so, what? Would we be able to cope? Are we adequately prepared?

We suddenly come to realize that we aren’t in complete control of everything. This is why certain individuals begin embracing outlandish theories and scenarios of apocalypse.

The next total eclipse in the U.S. won`t happen until March 30, 2033, when totality will reportedly only across parts of Alaska. The next eclipse in the 48 contiguous states is expected to occur on August, 12, 2044, with parts of Montana and North Dakota experiencing totality.

The safety of the people shall be the highest law

Emergency! Emergency! People in France are putting their yellow vests on because they are in an emergency situation. This is a yellow vest that everybody have in their own car in case of an accident. The yellow vest protests started in November last year because the authorities was planning to rise the cost of fuels, which is something most people in France can`t afford.

President Donald Trump doesn`t wear a yellow vest, but he is also in an emergency situation. He recently announced that he could “call a national emergency” to build a wall on the border with Mexico. Is that really a national emergency?

(Click the picture to enlarge)

A morning consult poll show that 42% of all voters belive there is a major crisis at the border while 72% of the Republicans agree. Former president Barrack Obama said it is a crisis at the border and so did Chuck Schumer. But now, most of the Democrats are against it.

Mr Trump said in a speech that more people die at the border than American lost in the Vietnam war. So, the situation at the border can be described as a war zone. Worse than the Vietnam war. Isn`t that an emergency situation?

A state of emergency is a situation in which a government is empowering to perform actions that it would normally not be permitted. A government can declare such state during a disaster, civil unrest, or armed conflict.

Such declaration alerts citizens to change their normal behaviour and orders government agencies to implement emergency plans.

In the United Kingdom, only the British Sovereign, on the advice of the Privy Council is able to proclaim emergency regulations under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 in case of any seriously fatal threats to their human welfare, their human society, and their environment, such as warfare or terrorism.

A state of emergency was last invoked in the U.K in 1974 by Prime Minister Edward Heath in response to increasing Industrial action.

Industrial action (or job action – North American English) is a temporary show of dissatisfaction by employees, especially a strike or slowdown or working to rule to protest against bad working conditions or low pay and to increase bargaining power with the employer and intended to force the employer to improve them by reducing productivity in a workplace.

Industrial action may take place in the context of a labour dispute or may be meant to effect political or social change. This form of communication tends to be their only means to voice their concerns about safety and benefits.

On December 10, 2015, Washington state Governor Jay Inslee declared a state of emergency due to flooding and landslides caused by heavy rains. The U.S states of South Caroline, North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia and Maryland declared states of emergency on September 8, 2018 in advance of Hurricane Florence.

Another ongoing national emergency, declared after the September 11 attacks, authorizes the president to retain or reactivate military personnel beyond their normal term of use. Former President George W. Bush and Barrack Obama, and current President Donald Trump, have chosen to extend the duration of the proclamation each year following its original declaration. Currently, the proclamation will remain in effect until September 14, 2019, unless it is extended again by the president.

President Trump are doing everything he can to protect the American people. He cut taxes, boost the stock market, lowering the unemployment rate and increase wages. He want to build the wall because so many people die at the border with Mexico.

There are drugs, criminals, rape and murders at the border, and this makes it an emergency situation for Mr Trump. He sounds like Marcus Tullius Cicero at the Roman Empire who said the safety of the people shall be the highest law.

Unfortunately, the same can not be said about Macron. He`s brain seems to be in Brussels and not in France. He should be more Nationalist like Trump and Ghandi and protect his own citizens. Rising fuel costs is not the right medicine for the people in France with an unemployment rate of 9,1%.

Don`t blame on Macron for everything because the record low of the French unemployment is 7,2%, and personal income tax rate is 45%.

Salus populi suprema lex esto (latin: the health, welfare, good, salvation, felicity) of the people should be the supreme law, Let the good (or safety) of the people be the supreme (or highest) law», or «The welfare of the people shall be the supreme law») is a maxim or principle found in Cicero`s De Legibus (book III, part III, sub. VIII).

The phrase is the state motto of Missouri, accepted, like many other states, as an element of its state seal. Macron has probably something to think of.

Emerging markets

It`s all green and it`s all up in the European markets today. It`s mixed in Asia. Today, everyone has their eyes on the Twitter IPO. A very risky investment for investors right now. You all know what went wrong with Facebook. Twitter is about 50% more risky than Facebook.

Befor the Twitter IPO I will write about the Emerging Markets. Three new investment opportunities today:

Turkey

GDP growth, 2013 to 2017: 21.2%.

Inflation rate: 5.4%.

Government debt as % of GDP: 36.3.

Thailand

GDP growth, 2013 to 2017: 25.9%.

Inflation rate: 2.7%.

Government debt as % of GDP: 49.4.

South Korea

GDP growth, 2013 to 2017: 22.9%.

Inflation rate: 2.9%.

Government debt as % of GDP: 27.3.

South Korea, together with Mexico and Czech Republic are among the most attractive countries. That`s because they are less reliant on foreign finance. That`s good news for investors because they don`t know what`s gonna happen in Capitol Hill and the White house.

Some of the nations in the EM`s will see more capital outflows in the next months as the investors starts to break it down to good EM`s and bad EM`s. The prospect of the Fed reducing its stimulus is a “persistent” external risk, South Korea Finance Minister Hyun Oh Seok said.

I look forward to write about Twitter tomorrow. A risky stock, and I am just waching the trading session now. News today: Crude oil inventories at 10:30am. Forecast: 1,7M.
