Qatar bid for Old Trafford club Manchester United

I have always been a big Manchester United fan, and a new owner matters to me. UEFA is set to give Qatar green light to buy ManU, despite the fact that Qatar Sports Investments is the owner of Paris St. German.

Glazer is the owner of ManU today, but they`re not so popular among the supporters. The Glazer family owns the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Manchester United. Two of the biggest names in sports, but they want to sell Manchester United. So, who will be the new owner?

Because Qatar Sports Investments is not the only bidder. A billionaire from Manchester is also interested in Manchester United: Jim Ratcliffe and is the only public bidder so far. A British petrochemicals billionaire who also is the owner of the INEOS cycling team.

Stylized as INEOS Grenadiers (formerly Team Sky from 2010 to 2019), and Team INEOS from 2019 to 2020. The British professional cycling team competes at the UCI WorldTeam level. In 2010, the group launched the ambition of winning the Tour de France with a British rider within five years, and that goal was achieved in two years when Bradley Wiggins won the 2012 Tour de France.

Chris Froome followed up and won TdF in 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017. They also won in 2018 with Geraint Thomas. The team won seven of the eight editions of the TdF between 2012 and 2019, with four different riders, and five grand tours between 2011 and 2021.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has expressed strong interest in buying Manchester United. First of all, he is born in Greater Manchester United and grew up being a ManU supporter. Second, this is not about the money that has been spent or not spent. It`s about what can be done now and how important the club is to the city.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has enough money for a takeover. He is the founder and owner of the fourth-largest chemical company (INEOS) in the world. His net worth is about £14 billion. The Glazer family`s net worth is about £3,5 billion, while the Qatar Sports Investment’s net worth is £220 billion.

The Glazer family values the club for £6 billion, but the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani is interested in buying ManU for £4,5 billion.

The stock is up about $5 as I write this, but up nearly 100% in a year.

Does the Glazer family care about the money or the new owner? It remains to see.

Le Tour de France will start on Saturday in Dusseldof and Chris Froome is still a favorite to win the tour

A lot of things have happened in France lately, but on Saturday it will all be forgotten for a while. On Saturday July 1, 2017, it is time for Le Tour de France. Im an active cyclist so Im watching Le Tour de France every single year.

There are 21 stages and the race will start in Dusseldorf, Germany on Saturday July 1, with an individual time trial of 13,8 km. The finish will as always be in Paris.

Defending champion Chris Froome (Team Sky) is an all-rounder. He is climbing good in the mountains, but he is also an accomplished time trialist. He is expected to fight with Nairo Quintana in the Pyrènèes.

Tour de France is one of the reasons why so many people love France. A country that have started a new but silent revolution by President Emmanuel Macron. He is a President for a country that have never been that rich if you measure it by GDP per capita.

GDP per Capita in France reached an all time high of 41702,40 USD in 2015. GDP per capita is obtained by dividing the country`s gross domestic product, adjusted by inflation, by the total population.

At the same time; 2,7 million are unemployed.

Tour de France is probably one of the toughest endurance events an athlete can take part in. What the riders are earning is nothing compared to footballers. The total pot of prize money for the tour 2017 is worth €2,280,950.

The estimated prize money for the final position is €5,617 per hour (based on 2016 winning time). The winner in the yellow jersey will earn €500,000 for cycling 2,200 miles (3,540 kilometers) over a three-week period.

By comparison, the winner of the mens singles at Wimbledon earned £2 million last year. Thats more than four times than the winner of Tour de France. That being said; Soccer is the worlds richest sport and the fotballers are running after the ball in 90 minutes.
