Far-right populist movements making a last desperate stand for liberalism and democracy against a rising tide of progressivism and globalism

Donald Trump is still popular. In 2018, Republicans used to call Ronald Reagan the best president in US history, but now, in 2021, it`s Donald Trump, according to the latest Economist/YouGov poll. Trump is at the top (36%), while Ronald Reagan is second (18%), followed by Abraham Lincoln (13%).

Among all Americans, Donald Trump comes in third at 13% with Barrack Obama on top of the list at 18%, followed by Abraham Lincoln at 17%. President Joe Biden is not on the list at all, as he had served less than 20 days when the survey began.

I support all the presidents no matter what side they are on, but that doesn`t mean I agree with all they do and say. Right now, Biden is the president, and he has a lot of things to fix. And Trump talked about it in his speech at CPAC.

«We`re in the middle of a historic struggle for America`s future, America`s culture, and America`s institutions. Our very identity as Americans is at stake, like perhaps at no other time, so no matter how much the Washington establishment and the powerful special interests may want to silence us, let there be no doubt; we will be victorious and America will be stronger and greater than ever before,» Trump said in the speech.

Much of the crazy ideas are coming from the left side. Ideas like language are violent, don`t practice yoga or cook Chinese food, there is no such thing as biological sex and only white people can be racist. Many people are confused by these ideas.

Do you wonder how some people on the left side have managed so quickly to challenge the very logic of Western society?

What`s going on in America is not unique. It`s the same playbook in Europe as well. President Macron talked about it a few days ago and said he doesn`t want all these crazy ideas from the left in France. Sorry Macron, but it all started there; in France.

It`s an evolution from French postmodernism to its refinement within activist academic fields. Today we can recognize it by its effects, such as cancel culture and social-media dogpiles, as by its tenets, which are all too often embraced as axiomatic in mainstream media:

knowledge is a social construct; science and reason are tools of oppression; all human interactions are sites of oppressive power play, and language is dangerous. As they warn, the unchecked proliferation of these anti-Enlightenment beliefs presents a threat not only to liberal democracy but also to modernity itself.

This is what authors Helen Pluckrose and James Lindsay talk about in their book; «cynical theories.» While acknowledging the need to challenge the complacency of those who think a just society has been fully achieved, Pluchrose and Lindsay break down how this often-radical activist scholarship does far more harm than good, not least to those marginalized communities it claims to champion.

They also detail its alarmingly inconsistent and illiberal ethics. Only through a proper understanding of the evolution of these ideas, they conclude, can those who value science, reason, and consistently liberal ethics successfully challenge this harmful and authoritarian orthodoxy, in the academy, in culture, and beyond.

During the modern period in the last two centuries in most Western countries, there has been developed a broad consensus in favor of the political philosophy known as «liberalism.»

The main tenets of liberalism are political democracy, limitations on the powers of government, the development of universal human rights, legal equality for all adult citizens, freedom of expression, respect for the value of viewpoint diversity and honest debate, respect for evidence and reason, the separation of church and state, and freedom of religion.

These liberal values developed as ideas and it has taken centuries of struggle against theocracy, slavery, patriarchy, colonialism, fascism, and many other forms of discrimination to honor them as much as we do, still imperfectly today, Pluckrose and Lindsay said.

But the struggle for social justice has always been strongest when it has cast itself as the defender of liberal values universally, insisting that they are applied to all individuals, not just to wealthy white males.

It must be noted that the general philosophical position that we call «liberalism» is compatible with a wide range of positions on political, economic, and social questions, including both what Americans call «liberal» (and Europeans call «social-democratic») and modern forms of what people in all countries call «conservative.»

This philosophical liberalism is opposed to authoritarian movements of all types, be they left-wing or right-wing, secular of theocratic.

Liberalism is thus best thought of as a shared common ground, providing a framework for conflict resolution and one within which people with a variety of views on political, economic, and social questions can rationally debate the options for public policy.

However, we have reached a point in history where liberalism and modernity at the heart of Western civilization are at great risk on the level of the ideas that sustain them.

The precise nature of this threat is complicated, as it arises from at least two overwhelming pressures, one revolutionary and the other reactionary, that are waging war with each other over which illiberal direction our societies should be dragged.

Far-right populist movements claiming to be making a last desperate stand for liberalism and democracy against a rising tide of progressivism and globalism are on the rise around the world.

Trump said in the speech that his movement is successful. «We began it together four years ago and it is far from being over,» he said.

Old politicians are out and we want to «drain the swamp» with a lot of new people and build a new type of government, Zelensky said

“The Hate Trump Media Mob” told you that the president of the United States, Donald Trump will be impeached. Not because of the Russia collusion Hoax. No, this time it is because they say Trump talked like a Mafia Boss. He pushed Zelensky.

The Media Mob said president Trump repeatedly pushed for Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelensky to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden, and his son, Hunter, during a July 25 phone call, according to a transcript of the conversation released by the White House.

But if you listen to president Zelensky himself, it is a different story. He said in a meeting with Trump that nobody pushed him. So, who are we gonna listen to? Can we trust the Media Mob this time?

The Media Mob have repeatedly said that Trump is unfit to be a president. The same is said about PM Boris Johnson. But what about Zelensky? He is the 6th president of Ukraine, and he is a Ukrainian comedian. Can you believe that? A comedian.

People voted for Zelensky because they didn`t want traditional politicians. Do you see the pattern here? The same happened in France when president Macron won the election. Traditional politicians are out.

People voted for Trump because he is a business man and not a politician. They all have the same goal: Drain the swamp! That`s what this positive populism is about.

Read the transcript below and see what president Zalensky said to Mr Trump. One of the things he said is this:

«We are trying to work hard because we wanted to drain the swamp here in our country. We brought in many many new people. Not the old politicians, not the typical politicians, because we want to have a new format and a new type of government. You are a great teacher for us and in that.

The Democrats and the Media Mob wants to get rid of president Trump, and they want to impeach him because they believe that Trump pushed Zalensky to investigate Biden. Read the transcript below and make up your own mind.

MEMORANDUM OF TELEPHONE CONVERSATION
SUBJECT: Telephone Conversation with President Zelensky of Ukraine
Participants: President Zelensky of Ukraine
Notetakers: The White House Situation Room
Date, Time July 25, 2019, 9:03-9:33 am EDT
and Place: Residence

The President: Congratulations on a great victory. We all watched from the United States and you did a terrific job. The way you came from behind, somebody who wasn’t given much of a chance, and you ended up winning easily. It’s a fantastic achievement. Congratulations.

President Zelenskyy: You are absolutely right Mr. President. We did win big and we worked hard for this. We worked a lot but I would like to confess to you that I had an opportunity to learn from you. We used quite a few of your skills and knowledge and were able to use it as an example for our elections and yes it is true that these were unique elections. We were in a unique situation that we were able to achieve a unique success. I’m able to tell you the following; the first time you called me to congratulate me when I won my presidential election, and the second time you are now calling me when my party won the parliamentary election. I think I should run more often so you can call me more often and we can talk over the phone more often.

The President: (laughter) That’s a very good idea. I think your country is very happy about that.

President Zelenskyy: Well yes, to tell you the truth, we are trying to work hard because we wanted to drain the swamp here in our country. We brought in many many new people. Not the old politicians, not the typical politicians, because we want to have a new format and a new type of government. You are a great teacher for us and in that.

The President: Well it is very nice of you to say that. I will say that we do a lot for Ukraine. We spend a lot of effort and a lot of time. Much more than the European countries are doing and they should be helping you more than they are. Germany does almost nothing for you. All they do is talk and I think it’s something that you should really ask them about. When I was speaking to Angela Merkel she talks Ukraine, but she ·doesn’t do anything. A lot of the European countries are the same way so I think it’s something you want to look at but the United States has been very very good to Ukraine. I wouldn’t say that it’s reciprocal necessarily because things are happening that are not good but the United States has been very very good to Ukraine.

President Zelenskyy: Yes you are absolutely right. Not only 100%, but actually 1000% and I can tell you the following; I did talk to Angela Merkel and I did meet with her I also met and talked with Macron and I told them that they are not doing quite as much as they need to be doing on the issues with the sanctions. They are not enforcing the sanctions. They are not working as much as they should work for Ukraine. It turns out that even though logically, the European Union should be our biggest partner but technically the United States is a much bigger partner than the European Union and I’m very grateful to you for that because the United States is doing quite a lot for Ukraine. Much more than the European Union especially when we are talking about sanctions against the Russian Federation. I would also like to thank you for your great support in the area of defense. We are ready to continue to cooperate for the next steps specifically we are almost. ready to buy more Javelins from the United States for defense purposes.

The President: I would like you to do us a favor though because our country has been through a lot and Ukraine knows a lot about it. I would like you to find out what happened with this whole situation with Ukraine, they say Crowdstrike… I guess you have one of your wealthy people… The server, they say Ukraine has it. There are a lot of things that went on, the whole situation. I think you’re surrounding yourself with some of the same people. I would like to have the Attorney General call you or your people and I would like you to get to the bottom of it. As you saw yesterday, that whole nonsense ended with a very poor performance by a man named Robert Mueller, an incompetent performance, but they say a lot of it started with Ukraine. Whatever you can do, it’s very important that you do it if that’s possible.

President Zelenskyy: Yes it is very important for me and everything that you just mentioned earlier. For me as a President, it is very important and we are open for any future cooperation. We are ready to open a new page on cooperation in relations between the United States and Ukraine. For that purpose, I just recalled our ambassador from United States and he will be replaced by a very competent and very experienced ambassador who will work hard on making sure that our two nations are getting closer. I would also like and hope to see him having your trust and your confidence and have personal relations with you so we can cooperate even more so. I will personally tell you that one of my assistants spoke with Mr. Giuliani just recently and we are hoping very much that Mr. Giuliani will be able to travel to Ukraine and we will meet once he comes to Ukraine. I just wanted to assure you once again that you have nobody but friends around us. I will make sure that I surround myself with the best and most experienced people. I also wanted to tell you that we are friends. We are great friends and you Mr. President have friends in our country so we can continue our strategic partnership. I also plan to surround myself with great people and in addition to that investigation, I guarantee as the President of Ukraine that all the investigations will be done openly and candidly.. That I can assure you.

The President: Good because I heard you had a prosecutor who was very good and he was shut down and that’s really unfair. A lot of people are talking about that, the way they shut your very good prosecutor down and you had some very bad people involved. Mr. Giuliani is a highly respected man. He was the mayor of New York City, a great mayor, and I would like him to call you. I will ask him to call you along with the Attorney General. Rudy very much knows what’s happening and he is a very capable guy. If you could speak to him that would be great. The former ambassador from the United States, the woman, was bad news and the people she was dealing with in the Ukraine were bad news so I just want to let you know that. The other thing, There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it… It sounds horrible to me.

President Zelenskyy: I wanted to tell you about the prosecutor. First of all, I understand and I’m knowledgeable about the situation. Since we have won the absolute majority in our Parliament, the next prosecutor general will be 100% my person, my candidate, who will be approved, by the parliament and will start as a new prosecutor in September. He or she will look into the situation, specifically to the company that you mentioned in this issue. The issue of the investigation of the case is actually the issue of making sure to restore the honesty so we will take care of that and will work on the investigation of the case. On top of that, I would kindly ask you if you have any additional information that you can provide to us, it would be very helpful for the investigation to make sure that we administer justice in our country with regard to the Ambassador to the United States from Ukraine as far as I recall her name was Ivanovich. It was great that you were the first one who told me that she was a bad ambassador because I agree with you 100%. Her attitude towards me was far from the best as she admired the previous President and she was on his side. She would not accept me as a new President well enough.

The President: Well, she’s going to go through some things. I will have Mr. Giuliani give you a call and I am also going to have Attorney General Barr call and we will get to the bottom of it. I’m sure you will figure it out. I heard the prosecutor was treated very badly and he was a very fair prosecutor so good luck with everything. Your economy is going to get better and better I predict. You have a lot of assets. It’s a great country. I have many Ukrainian friends, their incredible people.

President Zelenskyy: I would like to tell you that I also have quite a few Ukrainian friends that live in the United States. Actually last time I traveled to the United States, I stayed in New York near Central Park and I stayed at the Trump Tower. I will talk to them and I hope to see them again in the future. I also wanted to thank you for your invitation to visit the United States, specifically Washington DC. On the other hand, I also want to ensure you that we will be very serious about the case and will work on the investigation. As to the economy, there is much potential for our two countries and one of the issues that is very important for Ukraine is energy independence. I believe we can be very successful and cooperating on energy independence with United States. We are already working on cooperation. We are buying American oil but I am very hopeful for a future meeting. We will have more time and more opportunities to discuss these opportunities and get to know each other better. I would like to thank you very much for your support.

The President: Good. Well, thank you very much and I appreciate that. I will tell Rudy and Attorney General Barr to call. Thank you. Whenever you would like to come to the White House, feel free to call. Give us a date and we’ll work that out. I look forward to seeing you.

President Zelenskyy: Thank you very much. I would be very happy to come and would be happy to meet with you personally and get to know you better. I am looking forward to our meeting and I also would like to invite you to visit Ukraine and come to the city of Kyiv which is a beautiful city. We have a beautiful country which would welcome you. On the other hand, I believe that on September 1 we will be in Poland and we can meet in Poland hopefully. After that, it might be a very good idea for you to travel to Ukraine. We can either take my plane and go to Ukraine or we can take your plane, which is probably much better than mine.

The President: Okay, we can work that out. I look forward to seeing you in Washington and maybe in Poland because I think we are going to be there at that time.

President Zelenskyy: Thank you very much Mr. President.

The President: Congratulations on a fantastic job you’ve done. The whole world was watching. I’m not sure it was so much of an upset but congratulations.

President Zelenskyy: Thank you Mr. President bye-bye.

Strong and emotional speech from President Trump at 75th D-Day anniversary in Normandy

Another strong speech by President Trump at 75th D-Day anniversary in Normandy on Thursday. A very emotional speech and not at least; historic. I remember Bill Clinton and George Bush`s speeches but this one was very special. Not to say magic.

I have repeated myself for decades; Its all about the good people and the bad people. Thats it. The Nazi regime was a terrible terrorist regime and their goal was to take Europe, but they failed. The turning point was in Normandy in France and we can thank America for that.

They saved Europe from tyranny and gave Europe Freedom and liberty. “We pledge that our nations will for ever be strong and united,” Trump said in the speech.

This year, it is 30 years since the Tinananmen Square massacre in China were the Communist party killed its own citizens. This year, it is 75 years since the battle in Normandy in France were the people won against the terrorists.

“When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.” What some elite people don`t understand is that the federal government is our servant, not our master!»

Normandy`s D-Day landing beaches have come to symbolise universal hopes for freedom and peace, and beyond that, for reconciliation

We will never be finish with World War II and the ideology behind it. 6th June 2019 marks the start of the 75th anniversary of the D-Day Landings and the Battle of Normandy and with it, a momentous occasion to celebrate peace, liberty and reconciliation.

Nigel Farage and his supporters is one of the first to celebrate next week because they see it as a victory for democracy. They don`t like EU because it crushes democracy and take decision-making powers away from ordinary people and gives it back to unelected bureaucrats in Brussels.

On 6 June 1944 and during the long summer that followed, men from all over the world came to fight in Normandy to defeat Nazism and re-establish freedom. Normandy will bear the scars of this moment in history for ever and every year we remember and pay tribute to the veterans from America, Britain and Canada to name a few. Keep in mind that Russia also defeated the Nazis.

The Normandy landings were the landing operations on Tuesday, 6 June 1944 of the Allied invasion of Normandy in Operation Overload during World War II. Codename Operation neptune and often referred to as D-Day, it was the largest seaborne invasion in history.

The operation began the liberation of German-occupied France (and later Europe) from Nazi control, and laid the foundation of the Allied victory on the Western Front.

After the German Army invaded the Soviet Union in June 1941, the Soviet leader Joseph Stalin began pressing his new allies for the creation of a second front in western Europe. In late May 1942, the Soviet Union and the United States made a joint announcement that a «…full understanding was reached with regard to the urgent tasks of creating a second front in Europe in 1942.»

However, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill persuaded US President Franklin D. Roosvelt to postpone the promised invasion as, even with US help, the Allies did not have adequate forces for such an activity.

Instead of an immediate return to France, the western Allies staged offensives in the Mediterranean Theatre of Operations, where British troops were already stationed. By mid-1943 the campaign in North Africa had been won.

The allies then launched the invasion of Sicily in June 1943, and subsequently invaded the Italian mainland in September the same year. By then, Soviet forces were on the offensive and had won a major victory at the Battle of Stalingrad.

The descision to undertake a cross-channel invasion within the next year was taken at the Trident Conference in Washington in May 1943. Initial planning was constrained by the number of available landing craft, most of which were already committed in the Mediterranean and Pacific.

At the Tehran Conference in November 1943, Roosvelt and Churchill promised Stalin that they would open the long-delayed second front in May 1944.

Hitler and the Nazis wanted Europe, but they lost. The Allies won and took back their own countries. They celebrated freedom and liberty. Two important things Trump often talks about. He also say that nobody can take control over the United States because they want to rule their own country.

Look at Europe now. Especially after the election were the Brexit-party won big. The Global establishment are often talking about the right-wing partys like «anti-imigrants» or «far-right partys», but that description is false.

They also often put Trump in the same folder as Salvini, Farage, Le Pen and Orban. How can so many experts be wrong? The global elite are doing a big mistake; they are not listening to the voters. The elites are being rejected because they failed, and the fight has just begun. It will intensify next year.

The global elite must start to eccept the fact that the populist conservatives and economic nationalists are on the rise. Just take a look at the «Deep State» in the U.S that rose up before and after Trump`s election. They tried to take him out from the office but failed.

Its fact; the global elites have suffered from their wishful thinking since Trumps inauguration. People in the U.K voted to leave the EU and in the U.S, they voted for Trump. What do you think? Are people in the U.K and the U.S stupid? It remain to see.

On 6 June 2019 at 6pm, the official international ceremony celebrating this major anniversary will take place on Juno Beach and will be attended by many Allied Heads of State.

U.S President Donald Trump, British Prime Minister Theresa May and many other world leaders and dignitaries will all be in Normandy to mark the 75th anniversary.

The French president, Emmanuel Macron is facing criticism for refusing to attend an international ceremony at Normandy`s Juno Beach next week. Instead, he is to take charge of a ceremony in homage to French commandos and Resistance fighters who took part in the Normandy landings in 1944.

In the morning of June 6, Theresa May and Mr Macron will lay the foundation stone of the future British Normandy Memorial, commemorating the 22,442 troops under British command who died in the summper of 1944 during fierce fighting as the Allies invaded France.

Later he will join Donald Trump at the American ceremony at Colleville-sur-Mer. At Omaha Beach, Mr Macron will award the Legion of Honour, France`s highest distinction, to five American veterans aged between 94 and 100.

Louis Mexandeau who is 87 years old, is a former minister for veterans, and he said: «We had hoped that France would honour in the appropriate manner the sacrifice of tens of thousands of Allied soldiers.»

We will all honor and pay tribute to our fallen heroes. The men who landed on D-Day, leading to victory in Europe in World War II.

A rich and unprecedented programme of events will be put together to bring the memory of this tragic period of world history to life, all while emphasizing the spirit of hope. The anniversary will be commemorated with military parades, firework displays, airdrops, giant picnics, conserts and military camp re-enactments.

Normandy`s D-Day landing beaches have come to symbolise universal hopes for freedom and peace, and beyond that, for reconciliation.

Eurosceptic parties are expected to make a strong showing at the polls on the ninth parliamentary election since 1979

The next election to the European Parliament is expected to be held between 23 and 26 May 2019, and will be the ninth parliamentary election since the first direct elections in 1979. A total of 751 members of the European Parliament (MEP`s) currently represent more than 512 million people from 28 member states.

The polarization of the European Parliament after the 2019 election is growing. Centrist parties, including center-left, center-right and liberal parties, are struggling to maintain a majority (376) of seats.

The ninth parliamentary election will make a big change because new parties such as Confederation and Kukiz15 of Poland, Czech Pirate Party of Czech Republic, Alliance, Basta! And Liberal Initiative of Portugal, USR and PLUS of Romania, LMS of Slovenia, Human Shield, Most and Workers Front of Croatia, L`SNS and Sme Rodina of Slovakia will participate.

For the liberals, the biggest hope is that the new La Rèpublique En Marche! of French President Macron will choose to join ALDE after the elctions.

However, En marche is expected to be more likely to try to form a new parliamentary group of pro-European centrists who support Macron`s plans to reform the European institutions, thus drawing away members from ALDE, EPP and S&D.

Possible partners for such a project might include Spanish Ciudadanos, Progressive Slovakia and the Hungarian Momentum Movement. While it is likely that En Marche will put together the minimum of 25 MEPs needed to form a group, the requirement to include MEPs from at least seven member states would be more difficult.

The European Spring initiated from the Democracy in Europe Movement 2025 will run as a pan-European party alliance with one unified vision for Europe; the European Green New Deal.

The most prominent figure is the former Greek minister Yanis Varoufakis, who will run as candidate in the constituency of Germany.

Volt Europa, a pan-European progressive movement, will run in several countries under the same name in the attempt to form its own group.

The leader of the Italian Five Star Movement has expressed a desire to form an anti-establishment faction of their own within the EU.

Pablo Iglesias, Catarina Martins, Jean-Luc Mèlenchon and several others have formed an alliance in Maintenant le Peuple opposed to the PEL, but they are likely remain in GUE/NGL.

The Movement is an alliance of right-wing populist parties set up by Steve Bannon with the purpose of contesting the European elections. Participating parties include Lega Nord, People`s Party of Belgium and Brothers of Italy and possible French National Rally.

Originally envisioned as an attempt to unite the right-wing populist parties in Europe. The Movement has so far been snubbed by the Alternative for Germany, the Freedom Party of Austria and the UK Independence Party.

The biggest party is the European Peoples Party (EPP), followed by Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) and Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) + En Marche! Next can be Salvinis European Alliance of People and Nations (ex ENF).

EPP`s Incumbent Jean-Claude Juncker has stated he will not seek a second term as President. Two candidates sought the nomination of the EPP: Alexander Stubb, the Vice-President of the European Investment Bank, former prime minister, foreign minister and finance minister of Finland.

Manfred Weber, current group leader for the European People`s Party in the European Parliament and member of the Christian Social Union in Bavaria has been backed by Angela merkel as Spitzenkadidat for the party.

Oriol Junqueras, a Catalan historian, academic and former Vice President of Catalonia who is currently imprisoned because of his involvement in the 2017 Catalan independence referendum, is the Spitzenkadidat of the European Free Alliance.

Eurosceptic parties are expected to make a strong showing at the polls and all the Brexit-mess have made Eurosceptics more silent. So, instead of leaving the EU, Europes right-wing nationalists like Marine Le Pen of France, Italys Matteo Salvini, and the AfD will stay and rather try to «change the EU from the inside».

European economics commissioner Pierre Moscovici has warned of the dangers of a populist «breakthrough» for the EU`s future. He describes these elections as the «most delicate and most dangerous ever».

The nationalist Eurosceptics threatened to «destroy the EU as we know it», Pierre said. Choose your future.
