Happy New Year 2024

Let`s say it in the words of Abba: “Happy New Year”, written by Benny Andersson and Bjoern K Ulvaeus from Sweden. This song is from the album “Super Trouper”, released on 3 November 1980. That album became the best-selling album of 1980 in the UK.

“May we all have a vision now and then.
Of a world where every neighbor is a friend”, they wrote in the text in 1980, but look at the world today. More than 40 years later. We are on the brink of World War III. So, what can we do?

“May we all have our hopes, our will to try. If we don’t we might as well lay down and die” they added in the text. They wrote this so many years ago, and we can see that the hope is going around in a circle. Round and round and round.

“Sometimes I see how the brave new world arrives. And I see how it thrives in the ashes of our lives.
Oh yes, man is a fool and he thinks he’ll be okay. Dragging on, feet of clay never knowing he’s astray.
Keeps on going anyway”, they wrote in the text. And this is what we see, and it`s all a part of an evolution.

“Seems to me now, that the dreams we had before, are all dead, nothing more than confetti on the floor”, Bjorn and Benny wrote in the middle of the text. It seems like the dreams and hope is going around in a circle. Will we sometimes in the future reach our goals?

“May we all have a vision now and then, of a world where every neighbor is a friend”. May we all have our hopes, our will to try. If we don’t we might as well lay down and die. You and I”.

Happy New Year to all of you from all of us.

No more champagne
And the fireworks are through
Here we are, me and you
Feeling lost and feeling blue
It’s the end of the party
And the morning seems so grey
So unlike yesterday
Now’s the time for us to say

Happy New Year
Happy New Year
May we all have a vision now and then
Of a world where every neighbor is a friend
Happy New Year
Happy New Year
May we all have our hopes, our will to try
If we don’t we might as well lay down and die
You and I

Sometimes I see
How the brave new world arrives
And I see how it thrives
In the ashes of our lives
Oh yes, man is a fool
And he thinks he’ll be okay
Dragging on, feet of clay
Never knowing he’s astray
Keeps on going anyway

Happy New Year
Happy New Year
May we all have a vision now and then
Of a world where every neighbor is a friend
Happy New Year
Happy New Year
May we all have our hopes, our will to try
If we don’t we might as well lay down and die
You and I

Seems to me now
That the dreams we had before
Are all dead, nothing more
Then confetti on the floor
It’s the end of a decade
In another ten years’ time
Who can say what we’ll find
What lies waiting down the line
In the end of eighty-nine

Happy New Year
Happy New Year
May we all have a vision now and then
Of a world where every neighbor is a friend
Happy New Year
Happy New Year
May we all have our hopes, our will to try
If we don’t we might as well lay down and die
You and I.
